Terms of Service.

The subscription, the sprint and the Pro plan.

Last updated 8 October 2026

These terms apply to the product team subscription, the kickoff sprint and the Pro plan supplied by SixTwoEight Design Ltd, trading as 628 Studio, a company registered in England and Wales (company number 14933393), registered office Dock 3, 30 Exploration Drive, Leicester, LE4 5JU. In these terms "we" and "us" mean 628 Studio, and "you" means the company subscribing. Where we have signed a separate written agreement with you, that agreement takes precedence over these terms.

1. What you are buying

A named senior designer and a named Laravel developer working on your product, together with a named cover person for holiday and sickness. You submit as many requests as you like to a queue. We work one request at a time, and you decide the order of the queue.

2. What counts as a request

A request is one piece of work we can finish in one to five working days: a screen, a flow, a landing page, a feature slice, a bug fix, an integration, or a defined piece of SEO or Google Ads work. Work larger than that we split into requests before it joins your queue. The subscription is not suited to a single one-off job: if that is what you need, a fixed-price project or a kickoff sprint is the better way to buy it, and we will say so.

A request starts only once it is briefed, which means it has a goal, a definition of done and any assets we need. If something is missing we return it with the questions we need answered, and the request has not started. Revisions within the scope of a request are unlimited: you are buying finished work, not a draft. If the brief itself changes we will tell you and re-scope it, and genuinely new scope becomes a new request.

3. Turnaround

We aim for an average of 48 hours on design requests, measured across your requests rather than guaranteed on any single one. Development requests are estimated when they reach the top of your queue; we do not promise a fixed turnaround on code. Every request is read within two business hours, and anything over a day's work gets an estimate before we begin.

4. Delays

If we are waiting on approval, feedback or assets from you, the rest of your queue waits too. We will not begin additional requests to fill the gap, because doing so is what turns a queue into four half-finished things. We will tell you when we are blocked and what we need.

5. How we work together

You get one 30-minute onboarding call. After that we work asynchronously: a shared board, Slack and Loom, with one written update per working day on anything in progress. A recurring weekly call is a feature of the Pro plan. We do not attend standups, and on-site days are not included.

6. The stacks we work in

Laravel on the server, with Inertia, Svelte, Livewire, Vue and Tailwind on the front end, and in practice most JavaScript libraries and frameworks alongside them, including React and Next.js, inside a codebase that already uses them. Standard integrations such as Stripe, Postmark, Twilio, OpenAI and third-party APIs are routine. Products with no stack chosen yet are built in Laravel and Svelte, because that is what we are fastest in. If a request needs something genuinely outside what we work in, we will tell you before it joins your queue rather than attempt it.

7. What is not included

Third-party costs, licences, hosting and ad spend; app-store submission; data migration; on-site days; standing calls beyond onboarding; and stacks we do not work in. Where a request needs a paid third-party service, that cost is yours and we will tell you before it is incurred.

8. Price and payment

The subscription is £4,500 a month. Where the six-month rate has been agreed in writing it is £3,500 a month, or the same reduction applied to quarterly (£9,975 a quarter) or six-monthly (£18,900) billing, held for six months from your first payment, after which the standard price applies. The six-month rate fixes what we charge, not how long you stay: it creates no minimum term, and the cancellation rights in clause 9 apply to it exactly as they do to the standard price. The Pro plan is £7,500 a month and includes two active requests and a weekly 30-minute call. A kickoff sprint is £1,950 for two weeks. If you subscribe within 30 days of the sprint ending, the full £1,950 is deducted from your first subscription payment. All prices exclude VAT, which is charged where applicable.

Month one is paid before onboarding. After that the subscription renews automatically and is charged in advance: by card or Bacs Direct Debit for monthly billing, and by card for quarterly and six-monthly billing. If a payment fails, Stripe emails you a link to update your card, and work pauses until it clears.

9. Pausing, cancelling and refunds

To pause, email [email protected], confirmed the same working day; the pause takes effect at the end of the paid month. To cancel, use the customer portal linked from this site or tell us in writing. Neither has a notice period or a fee. Pausing holds your place and your queue; cancelling does not.

If you cancel within seven days of your first payment we refund 75% of that month. The 25% we retain covers onboarding and the work already queued. This applies once, to a first subscription, and not to a renewal or a resumed subscription. Months already started are not refundable beyond that first week, because capacity was reserved for you and not sold to anyone else.

We can also end the subscription, with notice and no renewal, if requests are repeatedly submitted without a usable brief, if payment repeatedly fails, or in the event of abuse of our team.

10. Fair use

The queue is unlimited; our capacity is not. Each subscriber has a set number of team-days a week, which is why we work one request at a time. Fair use means briefing requests properly, keeping one organisation's work on one subscription, and not reselling your subscription or sharing it across unrelated companies without telling us. If we think usage has stopped being fair we will raise it with you before we act on it.

11. Ownership of the work

All intellectual property in the deliverables we produce for you transfers to you on payment of the invoice covering the month in which they were delivered. Until that payment is made, the work remains ours. You keep everything you gave us.

We keep ownership of anything we had before the engagement and anything general we build across clients: our tooling, boilerplate, components and know-how. Where those are embedded in your deliverables you get a perpetual, worldwide, royalty-free licence to use them as part of that work. Third-party and open-source components stay under their own licences.

Unless you ask us in writing not to, we may show the work publicly in our portfolio and marketing once it is live. Tell us and we will keep it off the site.

12. Confidentiality

Each of us will keep the other's confidential information confidential, use it only to carry out these terms, and share it only with people who need it and are under the same obligation. This does not cover information that is already public, that either of us had independently, or that we are required to disclose by law. These obligations continue for three years after the subscription ends. We will not train models on your code or data, or use them for anything other than doing your work.

13. Data protection

Where we handle personal data on your behalf in the course of the work, you are the controller and we are the processor, and we will act on your documented instructions, keep the data secure, and help you respond to requests from the people it concerns. How we handle personal data on this website is set out in our privacy policy.

14. Liability

Nothing in these terms limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot be limited by law. Subject to that, neither of us is liable for loss of profit, revenue, business, anticipated savings or data, or for indirect or consequential loss, and our total liability in any twelve-month period is limited to the fees you paid us in that period.

15. Changes to these terms

We may change these terms. If a change materially affects a live subscription we will tell the subscriber at least 30 days before it applies to them, and the version on this page when you most recently paid is the one that governs that month.

16. Law

These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have exclusive jurisdiction.

17. Referrals

Anyone can refer a company to us, clients included. The company you refer gets £500 off their first month, and you get £500 once they have paid their second month - as credit against your own invoice if you are a subscriber, or paid to you if you would rather, or if you are not. There is no cap on how many you refer. Where the company you refer also takes the reduced six-month rate described in clause 8, both still apply: that rate runs for its six months and the £500 comes off their first month at the standard rate afterwards. We can change or withdraw the offer for new referrals at any time, and a change never affects a referral already made.

18. Contact

For anything about billing, including pausing, use [email protected], which is also the address on every receipt, invoice and portal page. For everything else, including questions about these terms, use [email protected], or write to SixTwoEight Design Ltd, Dock 3, 30 Exploration Drive, Leicester, LE4 5JU.
