BrockFest 2026: what a day

We were the main sponsor and it rained most of the afternoon, which stopped precisely nobody. Thank you to everyone who put it on, and yes, Kryspin ended up behind the bar.

We wrote a few weeks ago about why we were sponsoring BrockFest. Saturday was the day, and it was every bit as good as we hoped.

It rained for a decent chunk of the afternoon. Nobody left.

Damp, and entirely worth it. The main stage at Brockholes Rec.

Thank you to the BrockFest team

The thing worth saying first is that we sponsored this. We did not organise it.

Everything that made Saturday work, the stage, the bar, the licences, the volunteers on the gate in the rain, the months of planning that nobody sees, was done by the BrockFest team. Sponsorship is the easy part. Turning a rec ground in Brockholes into a festival is not, and they do it while holding down normal jobs.

So thank you. Genuinely. It was a brilliant day and you should be very pleased with it. And thank you to Sean Doyle, who photographed the whole thing and whose pictures are the reason this post is worth looking at.

Kryspin poured a few pints

Our co-founder Kryspin spent a portion of the day behind the bar, which was not in the sponsorship agreement and which he threw himself into anyway.

By all accounts he was competent. We are choosing to believe the froth was intentional.

Ten Huddersfield ales on tap, and our name on the cup for the second year running.

We sponsored the cups last year too, so the logo in a few thousand hands was not new. Being main sponsor was. We spend most of our time putting brands on screens, so a field in Brockholes remains a change of pace.

The bit that matters

Every penny of profit goes back into the village. That was why we got involved, and it is why we would do it again.

Every photograph here was taken by Sean Doyle, who spent the day working in the rain so the rest of us did not have to think about it. There are plenty more of his in the Huddersfield Hub's write-up of the day, which captures it better than we can here.

Same again next year, we hope. We will bring more waterproofs.
